PS1 – 3/26/2016

Oh, PS1, I love you! I love you! I love you! You make me think and you make me giggle, you provide me with endless photo opportunities.

The piece featured on this entry is Lure and was created in 1995 by Kiki Smith (b. 1954). It represents the poetics of the human body. The weight of the hook recalls the status of the body as an earthly thing – a weight to which the lightness of the psyche is perpetually bound.

Talking about the body, there was quite an uncanny arrangement. I will let you be the judge:

And there was this series of pictures of doors. And so, I took photos of photos of doors through doors, because, you know, why not?


The doors photographer was Roy Colmer (1935-2014).

This last piece had to do with narcissim. I think it’s always a good thing to reflect on that, so, there:
